FY27 SRB Updated: MOS 0315 Scout Added to Bonus Eligibility

The Marine Corps updated the FY27 Selective Retention Bonus (SRB) program to add PMOS 0315 Scout as an eligible MOS. This is the second change to the original FY27 SRB MARADMIN. The update also extends 24 and 36-month Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Infantry Kicker eligibility to 0315.

Heads up: This MARADMIN explicitly does not apply to the Marine Corps Reserve.

Who it affects

Active component enlisted Marines only. The Reserve is specifically excluded by paragraph 7 of this MARADMIN.

For active component readers who ended up here: eligible Marines are E5 and below with a current PMOS of 0311, 0315, 0331, 0341, or 0352 who have either graduated from the Basic Scout Course (course identifier M030J14 or M100J15, military service school code 0J1) or hold AMOS 0317 Scout Sniper. Those Marines are eligible for an immediate PMOS conversion to 0315 with no additional MOS training required.

What you need to do

If you are a Reserve Marine: nothing. This program does not apply to you.

If you are active component and potentially eligible, talk to your career retention specialist. The FY27 SRB Program statement of understanding is available through the Total Force Retention System (TFRS) and the Enlisted Retention Manpower page.

Key dates

  • Program runs through 30 September 2027, but HQMC can suspend or terminate it earlier if funds run out or retention requirements change.
