How drills get scheduled, mustered, and paid (the Drill Manager Module)

Bottom line

Every paid and unpaid drill you do is scheduled, mustered, certified, and paid through one web system: the Requirements, Transition, and Manpower Management System Drill Manager (RTAMMS DM), also called the Drill Manager Module (DMM). It is the only authorized way to account for and pay drills. Your unit publishes the year's drill schedule in the system by 1 December. To get credit and pay for an IDT period you must muster on time and train at least four hours. Miss a drill the wrong way and you are marked absent; miss it the right way (an approved reschedule or excused absence) and you protect your points.

What it means for you

If you drill in an SMCR unit or you are an IMA, your participation lives in RTAMMS DM. You register on the M&RA website to get a basic user account, then you can see your scheduled drills, request a reschedule (RIDT), and request extra paid drills.

The rules that hit you directly:

  • Show up on time. Late to muster means you are counted absent from that IDT, unless your CO excuses it.
  • Four hours is the pay line. No IDT period under four hours of actual training gets paid, ever.
  • Reschedule in advance, in the system. A rescheduled drill (RIDT) has to be requested by you and approved in DMM before the drill it replaces, and performed in the same fiscal year.
  • You cannot bank or move points. Make-ups happen as an EDP (an extra drill period), with tight limits on how many can be paid.

The rest of this section is mostly about roles your leadership holds. The parts you will actually use are IDT Scheduling, IDT Attendance, rescheduling (RIDT), and extra drill periods (EDP).
