The Marine Corps just released its FY27 CRM, assigning reenlistment targets to every major command through 30 September 2027. The missions cover both first-term (FTAP) and subsequent-term (STAP) reenlistments, broken down by PMOS and in aggregate. For reservists, Marine Forces Reserve is on the list and carries a Direct Affiliation Program (DAP) mission as well. If you're an enlisted Marine with a contract ending between 1 October 2026 and 30 September 2027, your reenlistment decision counts toward your command's number.
Heads up: Reenlistments secured since 1 January 2026 already count toward the FY27 CRM, so if you've already reenlisted this calendar year, you're in the picture.
Who it affects
This touches several groups differently:
- Commanders and career counselors at all levels own the execution. The CRM is formally assigned to major commands, but every leader in the chain is expected to contribute.
- Enlisted Marines (FTAP and STAP) with an End of Current Contract between 1 October 2026 and 30 September 2027. Your reenlistment is what actually closes out a mission requirement.
- Reserve Component Marines eligible for DAP: The DAP mission is specifically tied to first-term Marines in the RC. Officers are included in the DAP-eligible population.
- Marines considering a lateral move: FY27 introduces command-level lateral move goals for certain FTAP and STAP MOSs. These are goals, not hard missions, but commanders and career counselors are expected to actively pursue them. A Marine who reenlists with a lateral move counts against the PMOS they move into, not the one they left.
What you need to do
If you're a commander or career counselor: Pull your command's specific numbers from TFRS. The by-PMOS and aggregate missions are posted there, not in this MARADMIN. The CRM is the floor, not the ceiling. Keep retention efforts active all year.
If you're an enlisted Marine near end of contract: Talk to your career counselor now. Don't wait until the fiscal year gets busy. If your PMOS hits 100 percent of available boatspaces, remaining missions are relieved across all commands, so timing matters.
If you're considering a lateral move: Ask your career counselor which MOS fields have FY27 lateral move goals. This is the year to have that conversation, since formal lateral move missions are coming in FY28.
If you're just aware of this but have no pending contract decision: Nothing to act on right now.
Key dates
- 1 January 2026: FY27 Enlisted Retention Campaign start date. Reenlistments from this date forward count toward the FY27 CRM.
- 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027: The window for End of Current Contract dates that count toward the FY27 CRM.
- 30 September 2027: CRM closes.
