Calling for article submissions to the March 2027 Marine Corps Gazette I&L issue

DC I&L is looking for article submissions for the March 2027 Installations and Logistics (I&L) issue of the Marine Corps Gazette. The theme is the future of contested logistics: distributed operations, modernization, AI, advanced manufacturing, and how the Corps sustains itself in a fight. Anyone, military or civilian or contractor, can submit.

Heads up: The cover page deadline is 25 Sep 2026, which may already be past or close depending on when you're reading this. Check the timeline below and contact the POCs immediately if you're interested.

Who it affects

This is open to everyone: active duty, reserve, civilian employees, and contractors. There's no rank or MOS restriction. If you have something to say about logistics, sustainment, or installations, you're eligible.

What you need to do

If you want to submit an article, here's the sequence:

  1. Pick one or more of the eight lines of effort listed below and build a clear thesis around it.
  2. Write a cover page (article title or thesis, relevant line of effort, your name/rank/billet for bio, email, mailing address, and a synopsis of 150 words or less). No page number on the cover page.
  3. Submit your cover page to the POCs by 25 Sep 2026 (see dates below).
  4. Submit your draft article by 9 Oct 2026.
  5. Submit your final article by 29 Oct 2026.
  6. Upload via the submission form or email the POCs directly.

Article format requirements:

  • Length: 1,500 to 3,000 words
  • Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, 12pt, double-spaced
  • Title as header, page numbers centered in footer
  • Graphs: PowerPoint, highest resolution, note placement in article body
  • Photos: JPEG, PNG, or TIF, highest resolution, note placement in article body

The eight lines of effort (pick at least one):

  1. Developing adaptive leaders to execute in contested logistics
  2. Sustaining the Force: delivering the five imperatives in contested logistics
  3. Installations as resilient warfighting platforms: defend, distribute, and endure
  4. Building the global supply web: integrating joint, coalition, and industry partners
  5. Achieving decision advantage: integrating AI, data, and autonomous systems
  6. Point-of-need manufacturing: scaling advanced manufacturing at the tactical edge
  7. Littoral mobility and force generation: securing operational reach and endurance
  8. Modernizing the industrial base to ensure force regeneration and readiness
