The Marine Corps has announced the FY27 acquisition command screening board for officers in MOS 8059 and 8061. If you are an active component lieutenant colonel or lieutenant colonel (select) in one of those acquisition MOSs, the questionnaire is open now and closes in early October. This board selects officers to lead major acquisition programs and acquisition-related commands projected to fill in FY27.
Bottom line: If you hold MOS 8059 or 8061 and are a LtCol or LtCol (select), complete your questionnaire by 2359 EST on 2 October 2026.
Who it affects
Active component lieutenant colonels and lieutenant colonels (select) with a primary MOS of 8059 or 8061. This MARADMIN explicitly does not apply to the Reserve Component.
You are NOT eligible if any of the following apply:
- Your primary MOS is something other than 8059 or 8061
- You were previously selected for acquisition command with a projected rotation date after FY27
- You have an established separation or voluntary retirement date
- You declined command after selection on a previous board (as a primary or as an alternate who fleeted up)
- You are currently in a graduate education program
- You were relieved for cause from a designated LtCol command or equivalent screened billet
- You are above-zone for promotion to LtCol on the FY29 LtCol Selection Board
Check the eligibility roster posted on the MMOA-3 website (link in the "Official Version" section below). Questions about your specific eligibility go to your PMOS monitor.
What you need to do
- Confirm you are on the eligibility roster at the MMOA-3 Top Level Schools and Programs page (Acquisition Command Screening Board sub-tab).
- Log into the questionnaire using your CAC certificate:
https://www2.manpower.usmc.mil/application_cac/edu/ViewBoardServlet.action?boardID=5766 - Prepare a single PDF labeled
EDIPI_LastName_AcqCSBcontaining your bio-on-a-slide (no photos), a current Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) training transcript, and your acquisition Career and Training Summary (CTS). To get your CTS, email the USMC DAWIA Program Office atSMB_MCSC_DAWIA@usmc.mil. - Submit the PDF and any additional correspondence (letters to the board, letters of recommendation, anything not in your OMPF) through the questionnaire. The questionnaire is the only accepted submission method.
- Update your OMPF through the OMPF Records Management Application (ORMA) as soon as possible. Submit any outstanding fitness reports to MMPB-2 for inclusion.
If you do not want to screen (Remove by Request): Complete the questionnaire anyway, and submit an AA form requesting RBR. The AA form must be endorsed by Commander, MARCORSYSCOM or the Deputy Portfolio Acquisition Executive (Aviation). Email the request simultaneously to smb_mmoa_planso@usmc.mil and your PMOS monitor. Everything is due no later than 2 October 2026. Officers without a properly endorsed RBR form will be screened regardless.
