The Marine Corps released the full FY27 SNCO promotion board schedule in August 2026. Every SNCO board date is now locked, from SgtMaj/1stSgt in October 2026 through the SMCR/IRR SNCO board in July 2027. If you're eligible, or think you might be, the time to get your record squared away is now, not the week before the board convenes.

Heads up: Board correspondence must be received no later than 10 days before your board's convene date. Miss that window and it won't be considered.

Who it affects

All active and reserve component SNCOs (SSgt through SgtMaj/1stSgt) competing for promotion in FY27. The SMCR and IRR boards are included. This applies to the Total Force.

What you need to do

  1. Find your board in the schedule below and mark the convene date.
  2. Count back 10 days. That is your hard deadline for any correspondence to the board president. It must be received by 2359 EST on that date.
  3. Submit correspondence as a signed PDF via email to smb_manpower_enlisted_promotions@usmc.mil. Use that address, not a phone call.
  4. Check your fitness report record now. If you have gaps or pending FitReps, contact the Performance Evaluation Unit (see contacts below). Do not call or email to chase a report you already submitted; the MARADMIN says it slows processing, not speeds it up.
  5. Review your official record at the Enlisted Promotions website: manpower.marines.mil, then navigate to Manpower Management / Performance Branch / Promotion Section / Enlisted / Enlisted Promotions / SNCOs.
