The Marine Corps has published guidance to restart recording body composition data in the Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS). Everything that was in place under MARADMIN 066/26 and MCO 6110.3A still applies. What's new is the instruction on how to actually enter data into the system and a hard deadline to backfill everything that happened since February.

★ Affects all reservists: Units must certify all body composition evaluations conducted since 26 February 2026 in MCTIMS no later than 4 September 2026.

Who it affects

Every unit with Marines who completed a body composition evaluation during the first semi-annual period of 2026. This includes RC units. You are responsible for recording evaluations for Marines who were in your unit when they completed the requirement, even if they have since transferred out.

What you need to do

For unit administrators and personnel overseeing body composition evaluations:

  1. Log into MCTIMS and go to the Individual Training tab under the Individual Marine Management dropdown. The scoresheet is labeled "Semi-annual Body Composition Evaluation."
  2. Enter waist and height measurements rounded down to the nearest 1/2 inch, formatted as XX.X (for example, 33.0 or 70.5, not 33 or 70).
  3. MCTIMS calculates the Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) automatically. If it exceeds 0.52000, the system flags it and requires at least one body fat value.
  4. Enter weight. Weight no longer determines standards, but it still gets recorded. If your unit did not capture weight during the first semi-annual period, enter 75 as the placeholder.
  5. For body fat: enter tape test results as a whole number (X or XX). Enter BIA results exactly as printed, including the decimal (XX.X). Do not round BIA results. If a method was not used, leave that field blank.
  6. If BIA was conducted, also enter skeletal muscle mass (SMM) and lean body mass (LBM) from the printout. For evaluations done before this MARADMIN was released, enter 00 if those values are unavailable. From now until 1 September 2026, enter 00 for LBM regardless, due to a system limitation.
  7. For PFT/CFT performance-based body fat allowances: MCTIMS does not account for these automatically. Check the Marine's Basic Training Record in MOL and cross-reference MARADMIN 066/26 manually. Do not subtract body fat in MCTIMS to make a Marine appear in standards.
  8. Certify all backdated scoresheets by 4 September 2026. If you need more time, get an O-6 endorsement and submit an extension request through Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) to the addressee USMC TECOM.

For RC units specifically: conduct BCP periodic assessments (weight plus WHtR) when practicable at the drill weekend level.

Important: Body composition data will not automatically push from MCTIMS into MOL or the Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS). That integration is still being built. More guidance will come when it is ready.

Key dates

  • 26 February 2026: Start date. All evaluations from this date forward must be entered.
  • 4 September 2026: Deadline to certify all backdated scoresheets.
  • 1 September 2026: LBM entry restriction lifts (until then, enter 00 for LBM on all evaluations).
