The Marine Corps is migrating the SIPR Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) to a cloud environment. During the move, the system goes read-only for six days. You can view existing records, but you cannot create, edit, or route tasks. Units that rely on ETMS2 for tasker workflow need a manual backup plan before July 29.
Heads up: ETMS2 is read-only from July 29 at 1600 EST through August 4 at 2330 EST. Get your alternate routing plan in place before then.
Who it affects
Any unit or HQMC agency that uses SIPR ETMS2 to route or manage taskers. If your shop sends packages to HQMC for routing through the Director, Marine Corps Staff (DMCS), this directly affects you. Most SMCR and IMA Marines will feel this only if their unit or billet relies on SIPR tasker workflows.
What you need to do
- Build an alternate internal tasking and communication plan before July 29. The MARADMIN requires all units to have one. What that looks like is up to your command.
- If you need to route SIPR correspondence to HQMC during the outage, email it directly to
DMCS_SUPPORT_OMB@usmc.smil.mil(SIPR). Include a NAVMC HQ 335B routing sheet and all required documentation. - Only route time-sensitive packages during the outage. Hold non-urgent packages until the system is back.
- HQMC agencies and Marine Forces: submit your org inbox address or POC info to the DMCS Support inbox NLT July 28.
- After the system comes back up, DMCS will notify units via the org inbox. Once that notice goes out, stop emailing packages to DMCS. Upload anything processed during the outage into ETMS2 for record keeping.
