ODIN Is Now the Marine Corps' Official SITREP Reporting Tool

The Marine Corps is replacing its current SITREP reporting process with a new digital tool called the Operational Data Integration Nexus (ODIN), built inside the Maven Smart System (MSS). ODIN goes live on 7 July 2026 and becomes the only authorized platform for operational SITREP reporting from that date forward. This applies to the total force, including Reserve units.

★ Affects all reservists: ODIN launches 7 July 2026. Commanders need active MSS licenses and designated personnel ready before that date.

Who it affects

All Marine Corps units, active and reserve. Commanders and their designated reporting personnel are the primary action officers. RC units also have specific timelines for AAR and command chronology submissions that differ from AC requirements.

What you need to do

Before 7 July 2026, commanders have two tasks:

  1. Activate MSS licenses for your unit.
  2. Designate key personnel and ensure they activate their licenses as well.

A task order with detailed instructions and the ODIN access link will be released by the Deputy Commandant for Plans, Policies, and Operations (PP&O) before the go-live date. Watch for that message.

For AARs, RC units must submit to Training and Education Command (TECOM) within 60 days of event completion. That 60-day window is designed to allow review and submission across two consecutive drill periods.

For command chronologies, submit directly to the Marine Corps History Division at history.division@usmcu.edu per the schedule in MARADMIN 200/25. The submission must be a single PDF with a signed cover page, sent via email or DoD Safe.

A few command chronology rules worth knowing:

  • Units activated for a specific exercise or operation complete a chronology at deactivation. If the unit stays active more than six months, standard annual or semi-annual reporting applies until deactivation.
  • Units deployed to combat or contingency operations submit monthly chronologies by the 15th of the following month. The unit will be notified by message when monthly submissions are required.
  • Classified chronologies: contact the History Division for separate instructions before submitting.

The current governing order for SITREPs, MCO 3000.2J, remains in effect until the revised MCO 3000.2K is released.

Key dates

  • 7 July 2026: ODIN launches. All SITREP reporting transitions to the new platform.
  • Before 7 July 2026: Commanders must activate MSS licenses and designate reporting personnel.
  • RC AAR submission window: Within 60 days of event completion.
  • Monthly chronologies (combat/contingency units): By the 15th of the following month.
