The Marine Corps just released the FY27 High Visibility Billet (HVB) slate for MGySgts. This covers billets across several MOS communities, with commands ranging from MEFs to MEUs to MARFOR components. The board convenes 4 August 2026 at HQMC. If you're eligible, you should already be getting a questionnaire in the next few days.

Bottom line: If you're an MGySgt who hasn't received a board questionnaire by 15 June 2026, contact MMEA immediately.

Who it affects

Active component MGySgts in the following MOS communities: 0111, 0291, 0399, 0491, 0699, 28XX, 3047, and 3529. The eligibility bar is straightforward: 10 months time on station at the tentative report date. You're in unless one of the ineligibility conditions applies to you.

You are not eligible if you have:

  • An approved retirement
  • A stabilization for deployment
  • An active Enlisted Career Force Controls (ECFC) waiver

Note: ECFC waivers can be considered case by case, but you should not submit one specifically to compete for an HVB slot.

What you need to do

If you're in one of the MOS communities above and believe you're eligible:

  1. Watch for your board questionnaire from MMEA, due to you no later than 15 June 2026.
  2. If you haven't received one by 15 June, contact MMEA directly (POC info below).
  3. Complete the questionnaire electronically no later than 15 July 2026.
  4. Submit all slate-related correspondence to the POCs listed in this MARADMIN no later than 15 July 2026.

If you're selected and receive CONUS orders, you have 20 days from estimated arrival to gain 28 months of obligated service, or submit for retirement in lieu of orders. For OCONUS orders, that requirement is 40 months.

Key dates

  • 15 June 2026: Questionnaires sent to eligible Marines by MMEA. Contact MMEA if you haven't received one by this date.
  • 15 July 2026: Board questionnaires and all slate correspondence due back to MMEA.
  • 4 August 2026: FY27 HVB Board convenes at HQMC.
  • 2026 report dates (select billets): Treated as immediate fills. Selects notified after the sub-board completes.
