The Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS), the system that tracks individual and unit training completion across the Total Force, is being replaced. The legacy platform is over 20 years old and can no longer meet current cybersecurity and data management requirements. The replacement, MCTIMS II, is already in development and will roll out in phases through FY30. This touches every Marine because MCTIMS feeds pay, promotions, readiness reporting, and school registration.

★ Affects all reservists: MCTIMS II is being built in phases through FY30, and each phase will come with its own MARADMIN directing who transitions when. For now, most users stay on legacy MCTIMS.

Who it affects

Every Marine, Active and Reserve. MCTIMS is the authoritative source for individual and unit training data across the Total Force. If your training completions, MOS qualifications, school history, or unit readiness reporting live anywhere, they live here. This MARADMIN is primarily informational, aimed at commanders and administrators who manage or rely on training records.

What you need to do

Nothing right now. Most users are still on legacy MCTIMS until a subsequent MARADMIN tells them otherwise. Watch for follow-on MARADMINs as each domain goes live. If you manage training records at the unit level, stay engaged with your chain of command for transition timing.

Key dates

  • IOC achieved: Beginning of FY25 (already done)
  • Phase 3 (in progress): Standards Domain being built and launched now; only CD&I and TECOM Ground Standards Branch content originators are active in MCTIMS II
  • Full Operational Capability (FOC): No later than Q4 FY30
  • Phase 7 (legacy sunset): After FOC, once all users and interfaces have migrated
