The Marine Corps announced the convening dates for the FY28 Major General and Brigadier General promotion selection boards. Both boards meet at Quantico this July. If you are an ADL colonel or brigadier general in a competitive zone, your record needs to be squared away before the board sits. There is also an important update on how body composition is handled this cycle.
Heads up: The old Height and Weight standard has been replaced by a Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) requirement, but the Digital Boardroom cannot pull WHtR data automatically. You have to submit it yourself if you want it in front of the board.
Who it affects
ADL colonels and brigadier generals in the zones defined below. Reserve officers are eligible only if they appear on the ADL as defined in MCBUL 1400. Officers with a separation or retirement date within 90 days of the board convening date (already established by convene date) will not be considered.
