HQMC released the June 2026 officer promotion list and projected July 2026 promotions. Rank, pay, and allowances for June promotees are effective 1 June 2026. The MARADMIN itself is the legal authority for commanding officers to promote — you do not have to wait for the physical commission to arrive.
Bottom line: If your name is on this list, your CO can promote you now. The mailed commission takes 4-6 weeks but is not required.
Who it affects
Regular Marine Corps officers whose names appear on the promotion lists in this message. Grades covered: Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, Major, and Captain, effective 1 June 2026, with projected promotions for July 2026 also listed.
Reserve officers are not listed in this MARADMIN. If you are an SMCR or IMA officer and expected to see your name here, contact your unit S-1 or CMC (MMPB-10) directly.
What you need to do
If you are being promoted:
- Confirm your name appears on this MARADMIN.
- Coordinate your promotion ceremony with your commanding officer. The CO has authority to promote effective 1 June 2026.
- Sample commissions and the oath of office are in Chapter 6 of MCO 1400.31D or on the Officer Promotions homepage at
www.Marines.mil(navigate to Marines / Career / Promotions / Officer Promotions / Reference tab). - Expect your mailed commission to arrive in 4-6 weeks. It is not needed to complete the promotion.
If you are a commanding officer or S-1: this message is your authority to act. Do not wait for the paper commission.
Key dates
- 1 June 2026: Rank, pay, and allowances effective for all June promotees listed in paragraph 2.
- July 2026: Projected promotions listed separately; watch for the follow-on MARADMIN confirming those.
