Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) is offering FY28 recruiting duty volunteers the chance to pick their preferred Recruiting Station (RS) when they submit their volunteer package. The program is called the Recruiting Station Incentive (RSI), and it's part of MCRC's Recruit the Recruiter (RtR) campaign to grow the volunteer pool and reduce mandatory screening requirements. The window opened when this MARADMIN dropped.
Bottom line: If you volunteer for recruiting duty now and complete your RELM through TFRS, you're guaranteed your RS of choice, based on availability.
Who it affects
Any enlisted Marine considering recruiting duty for FY28. Second-tour recruiters are not eligible for RSI but have a separate process (see below).
What you need to do
- Talk to your unit Career Counselor and confirm you meet screening requirements.
- Submit a volunteer Re-enlistment Extension Lateral Move (RELM) through TFRS. Your Career Counselor submits the package to HQMC.
- When submitting, include your top three RS choices in order of preference, your preferred Basic Recruiters Course (BRC) class number, and your contact information (email and cell phone).
- After completing BRC, your specific Recruiting Substation (RSS) assignment will be assigned by RS and District personnel. You don't get to choose that part upfront.
If your first-choice RS is already full ("capped-out"): The Recruiting Monitor or an RtR coordinator will contact you to work out an alternative.
If you submit a modification request to HQMC after volunteering: Your original RSI pick may no longer be available. It's treated as a new request.
If you are a dual-military couple: Every effort will be made to place you within 50 miles of each other, but an RSI may not always be supportable in that situation.
Second-tour recruiters: You are not eligible for RSI. Contact your preferred RS Sergeant Major and Recruiting Instructor to get a By Name Request (BNR) before submitting your volunteer RELM through TFRS. For questions on orders and obligated service, contact MMEA-25.
