The Marine Corps eLearning Ecosystem (MCeLE) has a new content management and removal policy, effective immediately. This replaces all previous guidance on the subject. The short version: content hosted on MCeLE must be in the right part of the platform, kept current, and removed on a defined schedule. If you manage or own any content on MCeLE, you are responsible for compliance.
Heads up: Course managers, content owners, and curriculum developers are now required to complete the MCeLE Marine Digital Educator Program Curriculum (MDEP) to keep their elevated system permissions.
Who it affects
This is primarily aimed at people with elevated permissions in MCeLE: course managers, content owners, and curriculum developers. That includes reservists in training and education billets, IMA instructors, and anyone who manages unit-level or MOS-related courses on the platform.
Regular users who only take courses are not directly affected, but the policy shapes what content stays on the platform and where.
What you need to do
If you own or manage content on MCeLE:
- Review all content you host and verify it is in the correct MCeLE component for its purpose (see key points below for the component list).
- Remove unnecessary or outdated materials. The three-year review cycle is now policy.
- Complete the MCeLE Marine Digital Educator Program Curriculum (MDEP) if you have elevated permissions. Failing to do so puts your system access at risk.
- Download and read the policy letter and Quick Facts document. Both are linked in the MCeLE portal footer.
If you only take courses, no action is required.
Key dates
- Effective immediately (MARADMIN released 15 April 2026): all content owners and managers must comply with the new policy.
- Every 3 years: content owners must review and clean up hosted content.
- No hard deadline was published for MDEP completion. Check with your chain of command or the POC below.
