HQMC is accepting applications from Active Component officers who want to serve at Marine Barracks Washington (MBW) in Summer 2027. The slating panel convenes on or about 19 May 2026. Billets range from rifle platoon commander to staff officer, all in the National Capital Region, with one company commander and one guard officer slating to Camp David in Thurmont, MD.
Heads up: This MARADMIN is Active Component only. Reserve Marines are not eligible and have nothing to act on here.
Who it affects
Active Component officers only, per paragraph 6. Specifically, officers who:
- Will complete their current prescribed tour NLT 30 September 2027 (or have a waiver in progress)
- Are promoted, selected, or in zone for CY2026/FY2028 promotion to the applicable grade
- Meet height minimums (72 inches male, 68 inches female; waivers considered)
- Have a consistent first-class PFT and CFT, no adverse material, and career timing that supports a full 36-month tour
Ground combat arms officers (0302, 0802, 1302, or 1803) are eligible for the 8008-coded Barracks Officer and Guard Officer billets.

- Contact your PMOS monitor to confirm eligibility and get approval to apply.
- Ensure a current official photograph is uploaded to your OMPF (required per MARADMIN 582/25).
- Complete the FY27 MBW questionnaire at

If you don't meet tour, grade, height, or other requirements, contact your PMOS monitor about a waiver before applying.
