The Marine Corps released guidance for the 2026 Active Duty Fund Drive (ADFD) supporting the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS). The drive runs through 30 April 2026. The goal is 100 percent meaningful contact with active duty service members, informing them about NMCRS resources and giving them a voluntary opportunity to donate. MARFORRES is specifically tasked to coordinate and execute this for active duty personnel within its command.
Heads up: Participation and donation are strictly voluntary. Any pressure to hit a dollar amount or restrict a Marine's choice to give or not give is explicitly prohibited.
Who it affects
This MARADMIN is primarily directed at active duty commanders and their appointed coordinators. For the reserve component, it applies to MARFORRES and the active duty personnel assigned within reserve commands. If your unit has full-time active duty Marines or Sailors (Active Reserve, IMA on orders, etc.), your command has a role. Pure SMCR or IRR Marines with no active duty billet are not the target audience here, but they are eligible to learn about and use NMCRS services.
What you need to do
If you are an active duty leader or coordinator within MARFORRES:
- Appoint key personnel down to the battalion/squadron level by 13 March 2026.
- Forward coordinator and key personnel contact information to your regional NMCRS field office by 16 March 2026.
- Coordinate training and promotional resources through your nearest NMCRS field office.
- Conduct outreach to ensure 100 percent meaningful contact with all active duty members under your command before 30 April 2026.
- Submit weekly progress reports through the NMCRS tracking tool at
https://adfdreporting.nmcrs.org.
If you are an SMCR Marine: Nothing required. If you want to learn about NMCRS financial assistance programs available to you, visit https://www.nmcrs.org.
