The Marine Corps has announced the FY27 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Reserve Selection Board. The board convenes on or about 2 June 2026 at HQMC and runs approximately two weeks. If you're a qualified enlisted reservist eyeing a WO commission, this is your window. The deadline is firm and late applications will not be accepted.
Bottom line: Your application package must be submitted through DoD SAFE to
warrantofficerboard@marines.usmc.milno later than 15 April 2026. There are no exceptions.
Who it affects
This board is open to enlisted Marines in the following components:
- SMCR
- AR
- Mobilized Reserve Marines
- IRR
- Standby Reserve (Active list)
You must be technically and professionally qualified for the MOS you're applying for. Check with your occupational field sponsor early to confirm eligibility.
What you need to do
- Confirm you are technically qualified for the WO MOS you want. Contact the relevant occupational field sponsor if unsure.
- Identify the billet vacancy (BV) you're applying for. SMCR applicants must list preferred assignment locations. The full BV list is in the MARADMIN (paragraph 5).
- Build your complete application package per MCO 1040.42B w/Ch 1 and MARADMIN 554/25.
- Get your CO or I-I endorsement at every level of command up to the first General Officer in your chain.
- Upload and submit the complete package via DoD SAFE at
https://safe.apps.mil/to:
warrantofficerboard@marines.usmc.mil
A few things worth knowing about the endorsement process: commands do not need to review your entire application to render an endorsement. They only need to assess their level of confidence in you. Make sure you get original copies of all endorsements back before submitting.
Hard copy applications may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. If you think you need that route, contact the POC early.
