The Marine Corps is replacing AtHoc, the legacy emergency mass notification system, with a new enterprise-wide system called Alert!. The transition is directed by Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM) and must be complete no later than Q3 FY26. AtHoc stays up until Alert! is fully deployed at each installation, so there is no gap in coverage. This MARADMIN supersedes MARADMIN 492/22.
★ Affects all reservists: If your normal place of duty is on a Marine Corps installation, you are required to enroll in Alert! and update your contact info every 90 days.
Who it affects
The enrollment requirement applies to the "primary population": DOD military, civilians, and contractors whose normal place of duty is on a Marine Corps installation or in a Marine Corps facility. That means any reservist who drills at or works out of an installation counts.
Family members, guests, and visitors are not required to enroll but are strongly encouraged to do so.
For most reserve Marines drilling at a Reserve Support Activity or other installation, this is relevant at drill. If you are an IMA or otherwise regularly assigned to an active-component installation, it applies to your daily work environment.
What you need to do
- Enroll in Alert! using the PC client in your workstation system tray, or by logging into
dod.alert.mil. - Update your contact info (including after-hours contact info) every 90 days after initial enrollment.
- If you are an operator or administrator, complete Alert! user training before you are given system access. Training is run by TACOM and is available on a recurring schedule (see Key Dates). Contact the TACOM training team for the link:
usarmy.detroit.devcom-gvsc.mbx.em2p-help-desk@army.milor(866) 515-0551. - Integrate Alert! enrollment into your unit's check-in and check-out procedures.
For most drilling reservists, the action is simple: enroll at dod.alert.mil and keep your contact info current.
Key dates
- NLT Q3 FY26: Alert! fully deployed across Marine Corps installations. AtHoc remains active until then.
- NLT 30 working days from 24 Feb 2026: MWNS administrators must be appointed in writing (unit leadership action, not individual Marines).
- Every 90 days: All primary population members must re-verify and update their Alert! contact information.
Operator/admin training schedule (recurring):
- Every Wednesday at 1300 ET
- First Wednesday of each month at 0800 ET and 1800 ET
- Third Wednesday of each month at 0800 ET and 2000 ET
