The Marine Corps released the approved results of the FY26 Active Reserve SNCO Promotion Selection Board on 20 February 2026. This board covers selections to staff sergeant, gunnery sergeant, master sergeant, and master gunnery sergeant in the SELRES. Actual promotion dates will be announced in separate monthly MARADMINs.
Bottom line: Check the selection lists below. If your name is there, verify your PME status now because missing the requirement can get your selection deleted.
Who it affects
SELRES SNCOs and NCOs who were in the promotion zone (above, primary, or below) for staff sergeant through master gunnery sergeant in the FY26 Active Reserve board. IMA and IRR Marines in competitive categories may also be affected. Check the lists in paragraph 3 of the source MARADMIN.
What you need to do
- Find your name in the lists (paragraph 3 of the MARADMIN).
- Check your PME status immediately.
- If you were selected to gunnery sergeant or above, your PME must have been complete before the board convened. If it was not, your selection may already be at risk.
- If you were selected to staff sergeant under the sequenced PME provision, you have until 1 March 2027 to finish your PME requirements. Miss that date and your selection gets administratively deleted.
- Watch for a follow-on MARADMIN announcing your specific promotion date.
PME note: Sequenced PME was authorized for staff sergeant selections only. For gunny and above, there is no sequenced option. PME had to be done before the board.
Key dates
- 1 March 2027: Deadline for staff sergeant selectees under sequenced PME to complete PME requirements. Miss this and the selection is deleted.
- Promotion dates: To be announced in separate monthly MARADMINs.
