The Marine Corps stood up the MAGTF Unmanned Expeditionary Tactical Air (MUX-TACAIR) Transition Task Force (TTF) in January 2026. The Deputy Commandant for Aviation (DCA) directed the effort to manage the integration of a new unmanned tactical aircraft platform into USMC Aviation operations. The TTF pulls together a wide range of commands and organizations to coordinate the transition.
Heads up: This is an institutional announcement aimed at major commands and headquarters staffs. Most SMCR and IMA Marines have nothing to do right now.
Who it affects
Formally, this MARADMIN is addressed to the Total Force. In practice, it is directed at senior leaders and staff officers at major commands: the MEFs, MARFORCOM, MARFORPAC, MAWTS-1, MARFORSYSCOM, Marine Corps Installations commands, and several Navy and joint organizations. Commands are asked to provide subject matter experts and representatives when called upon.
Reserve Marines assigned to affected headquarters or working in aviation-adjacent billets should be aware this effort is underway and may eventually generate taskings.
What you need to do
For most reservists: nothing now. Watch for follow-on taskings if your unit or billet is connected to one of the listed commands.
If you are in an aviation or systems billet at a major headquarters, flag this to your chain of command so your unit knows it may be asked to provide representation.
