HQMC's Deputy Commandant for Information is taking the 17XX Information Maneuver (IM) occupational field on the road in early 2026. The roadshow has two goals: pitch lateral move opportunities to interested Marines and hold a broader conversation with the 17XX community about retention. Sessions run from February through April, with both virtual and in-person options across the continental U.S., Okinawa, Hawaii, and virtual for everyone else.
Heads up: If you're eyeing a LATMOVE into 1751 Influence Specialist, some in-person screening windows have already passed. Check the remaining dates and contact the Influence MOS team immediately if you want to participate.
Who it affects
Any Marine, any rank, officer or enlisted, who is interested in moving into the 17XX IM OCCFLD. Command leadership at all echelons is also welcome. The LATMOVE solicitation itself is relevant to Marines considering a move to MOS 1706 (Maritime Space Officer), 1707 (Influence Officer), or 1751 (Influence Specialist). Career Planners at the MSC and battalion level have a dedicated session on 4 February.

To attend an information brief, just show up or join the MS Teams session at the time listed. No sign-up is mentioned for the general briefs.
To attend an in-person screening and assessment for the 1751 PMOS LATMOVE, you must contact the Influence MOS team to sign up:
